Battery Backup for Home Phone Service
OzarksGo fiber phone service requires electrical power to operate. In the event of a power outage, your phone service—including the ability to call 911—will not function unless you have a backup power source.
OzarksGo does not provide battery backups, they are customer-purchased and not included with installation.
Important Considerations:
Backup batteries power voice service only and will not support internet, Wi-Fi, or other devices
Backup duration varies and may provide up to 24 hours of standby time, depending on the unit and usage
Battery performance decreases over time and routine testing and replacement are recommended
Without a backup power source, phone service will be unavailable during a power outage
If staying connected during outages is important to you, you always have the option to purchase a compatible battery backup on your own.

Existing Customers with Battery Backups
I already have a battery backup from OzarksGo. What happens if it stops working?
If you currently have a battery backup and notice it’s no longer holding a charge or working as expected, just reach out to our Customer Experience team—we’re here to help.
We’ll schedule a technician to come out and replace the battery unit with a standard power supply that plugs into your wall. This will keep your phone service working as normal when power is on.
A few things to keep in mind:
The replacement will not include a new battery backup
Without a backup power source, phone service will not work during a power outage
There will be no charge to you as the customer for this technician service call
If staying connected during outages is important to you, you always have the option to purchase a compatible battery backup on your own.
